Appearances Tekken 3įour years prior to The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, Jin's mother, Jun Kazama, who warned Jin that if anything were to happen to her, to go to his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima. He is the nephew of Lars Alexanderson too. He is also the great-grandson of Jinpachi Mishima (who only appeared in Tekken 5 and Tekken: Dark Resurrection as the final boss), the son of Jun Kazama, and also the cousin of Asuka Kazama, although the two don't seem to be aware of their relation.

He is the son of Kazuya Mishima, grandson of Heihachi Mishima, who are two of the series most significant characters. Jin is related to many key characters in the series. He was also one of the select few Tekken characters to be featured in Namco X Capcom, where he teams up with Taki (from Namco's other fighting game franchise Soul Calibur) and Ryu (from Capcom's Street Fighter series). Since his introduction to the Tekken series in Tekken 3, Jin Kazama has been the main protagonist in the Tekken series, and has been featured in every Tekken game since his creation, as well as a brief appearance in Tekken: The Motion Picture (he appeared as a child, and is also set to be the main protagonist in the 2009 film titled "Tekken").
